TURK KOMPOZIT 2019 Composite Summit will bring together all the industry professionals in Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Center on October 10-12, 2019.
TURK KOMPOZIT 2019, which is the largest, presentation and exhibition area for the Turkish Composite sector, aims to perform a larger and more effective Summit in terms of participation thanks to its expanded content. As the date of exhibition that we’re getting ready for approaches, some information about the exhibition content is presented below:
One of the significant components of the exhibition this year is that the products and solutions for the wind energy industry will be displayed. This industry is a field where high performance, light, high-strength and durable products are combined with innovative designs. Composite material technologies provide light materials with high specific strength to the wind energy industry. Composite materials offers solutions at every stage such as design, improvement, renovation, maintenance/repair, operation, sustainment etc. with their many advantageous features like forming, strength, and corrosion resistance and so on.
Globally, with increased focus on green and renewable energy generation and increased energy requirements, the wind energy industry has grown steadily over the last 20 years and companies are now competing aggressively in energy markets across the nation and around the world. The wind energy market has become the sixth largest market for the composites industry in the world and it is the highest growth market.
In 2017, total composites usage was 615.2 kilotons in the global wind energy market. Wind energy’s composites consumption has increased by approximately 20 times since 1998 and thus, it is the fastest growing segment in composites industry.
Composites are the materials of choice for making rotor blades for wind turbines, towers, and gear box covers. E-glass/polyester and E-glass/epoxy are the most widely used materials in blade manufacturing, but the use of carbon fibers for larger blade sizes is increasingly catching up. General purpose polyester and epoxy are common resins in the wind energy market.
We are waiting for all the sector members to this great exhibition, wishing you enjoyable and efficient sharing opportunities.
